Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by a virus which spreads through the blood or body fluids of an infected person.
You can be contaminated:

- By using infected needles
- In case of birth -- a mother can pass it to her child
There are different genotypes of Hepatitis C in the world. In Algeria the most common one is genotype 1. It is also the case in the United States, Canada or France for example.
Treatment with Sofos®
There has been some new treatment for Hepatits C developed by multinationals however at a very high cost. Laboratoires BEKER® has decided therefore to engage itself in finding a solution accessible for the patient by developing the generic version of Sofosbuvir, Sofos® at a cost 70 times lower than the branded drug.
Sofos® is a drug used to treat infection with hepatitis C in adults (18+).
The treatment works by reducing the amount of the virus in your body and eliminating it from your blood after a while.
Sofos® is always taken with other drugs. Alone, it is not efficient. It is frequently prescribed with: ribavirin, peginterferon alfa plus or ribavirin, or in combination with other interferon-free. Please refer to your doctor for the details of your treatment.
